Police are looking for an eight-year-old girl who was taken from a facility in Queensland this morning, with the search flagged as “a matter of extreme urgency”.
Queensland Police has issued an Amber Alert over the girl’s disappearance.
She was taken from a facility on Beach Road, Maroochydore about 10.45am by a man who is believed to be known to the child.
The man was seen taking the girl and putting her into a car and driving away, according to police.
Police said the girl “may be at significant risk”.
She is described as having sandy blonde hair, wearing black and white checkered shorts, and a navy blue shirt.
The man is in his 40s, and is described as looking Caucasian, having a shaved head and a slim build. He was said to be wearing a dark shirt, black slides and boardshorts.
The car was described as as a dark blue Toyota Hilux with a silver tray.
The pair are believed to be in the Sunshine Coast area, including Noosa.
Police urged the public to ring 131 564 with any information about this incident, or triple zero if the information is life-threatening.
