However, these changes have been introduced on Vande Bharat trains operated by the Southern Railway (SR) zone. In a statement, the zonal railway said: “For the 8 Vande Bharat trains originating from Southern Railway, current reservations can be done at enroute stations upto 15 minutes before the departure.”
Earlier, this facility was limited, curtailing the passengers from booking from enroute stations once the train leaves the source station.
Under the new rule, vacant seats on Vande Bharat trains will now be available for current booking at en route stations, significantly benefitting passengers and enabling better occupancy of the train.
