A number of roads were closed as officers dealt with the incident in Oldham
A man has been arrested after scaling the roofs of a row of houses for several hours in Oldham.
The man climbed onto the roofs of a row of terraces on Countill Road, in the Moorside area of the town, at around 4pm.
Police attended, and the road and a number of surrounding streets were shut off whilst officers dealt with the incident.

According to an eyewitness, the man appeared ‘manic’ as he paced up and down the roofs pulling off roof tiles and dropping them.
Officers on the ground at one point brought riot shields, the witness said.
“It was like something you would see at a prison riot or something” they said. “At points he looked really manic, looking left and right as he walked up and down.
“Other times he was just sat down, looking like he was feeling sorry for himself.”

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed he was brought down at around 7pm and was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
