Tyson Fury has swiftly responded to Oleksandr Usyk’s triumph over Daniel Dubois, maintaining his claim that he won their two previous bouts.

Usyk and Dubois faced off for the second time on Saturday night at Wembley Stadium, with a crowd of more than 90,000 spectators. From the outset, it was clear that Usyk, the Ukrainian fighter, was on the offensive, seemingly aiming for an early knockout.

Despite showing promise, ‘Triple D’ couldn’t match the agility of ‘the Cat’, who used his nimble footwork to evade any danger.

Despite having Usyk cornered, Dubois found himself floored. He managed to beat the count, only to be met with a fierce left counter from the Ukrainian.

Unable to rise, the referee called an end to the match. The 38-year-old veteran secured the undisputed heavyweight title for the second time, leaving fans wondering what’s next, reports the Mirror.

Although it appeared that Fury, Usyk’s long-standing rival, would be present at the Saturday night showdown after attending a pre-fight event at Wembley, the ‘Gypsy King’ was conspicuously absent. Instead of watching the fight ringside, the Morecambe-based boxer opted for a run, but was quick to voice his opinion on the match in a video posted to his official Instagram page.

“Massive shout out to Oleksandr Usyk. He did a fantastic job performance tonight over Daniel Dubois,” he began. “They came for a good tear up. So, congratulations to both men. But, Oleksandr Usyk knows there is one man who can beat him. I did it twice before and the world knows it. I have been f*****.

“I took it like a man. Here is me… not f****** around at some boxing match. I am out on the road running. I am running tonight. I came home. I did my job and I got myself back. I am the man. I am the f****** spartan. And no matter what anyone wants to say, I f****** won those fights. Guaranteed. 100 per cent. There is only one man! Get up!”

He captioned the post: “@usykaa congratulations. There’s only one man who can beat you again and that’s a Gypsy K Tyson Fury done it twice regardless of what the politics say!”

Both Fury and Usyk went head-to-head twice last year, with the latter winning on both occasions. The two stars first met in May 2024.

In an epic back-and-forth showdown, the Ukrainian would go on to get his hand raised via split decision. Seven months later, the pair were back in the ring.

The ‘Gypsy King’ was a lot more aggressive, but once again suffered a defeat on points to Usyk.

Following his triumphant clash with Dubois, Usyk discussed his career prospects, declaring: “Thirty eight is a young guy, remember… 38 is only the start.”

He proclaimed. “This is for the people, it’s for our world’s people. This is enough. Next? I don’t know. I want to rest. I want to go back home to my wife, my family.”

When pressed for details about his next opponent, Usyk listed potential contenders: “Maybe Tyson Fury. Maybe Derek Chisora. Maybe Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker.”

The comeback of renowned British boxer Fury has been set, as he announced that another showdown with Usyk will occur on 18 April 2026 at Wembley Stadium.

The ‘Gypsy King’, aged 36, took to Instagram to share a promotional fight poster featuring himself and Usyk, accompanying it with a caption: “April 18, 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets.”

Following their two previous bouts, lasting 24 rounds in total, Fury insists he secured victory during their last meet-up in December. His frustration was apparent as he said: “My last fight was a clear f****** victory for The Gypsy King. Anybody in boxing can see that. A complete load of dogs***,” in no uncertain terms.

He called for fairness in future matches: “I want a fair fight, I don’t want any favours, I want a fair fight and a fair result. Which I know I didn’t [get]. I thought I won it by five rounds. I watched it 250 times. Each way I never see it as a way for him to win. They can do what they want. If they say it’s Tuesday it’s Tuesday.”
