Unrecognisable 90s boyband star’s career now after band reunites without him

90s boy band Another Level recently announced their reunion and fans might be struggling to recognise one of the band’s former members who has transformed his look and career since their split

Another Level, one of the most popular boy bands of the late Nineties, enjoyed significant chart success with hits like Freak Me, Be Alone No More and Bomb Diggy.

However, some might struggle to remember who Dane Bowers, Katie Price’s ex and the band’s most famous member, performed with.

Dane shared the stage with Wayne Williams, Mark Baron and Bobak Kianoush from the band’s early success in 1997 until their split in 2000 after seven Top 40 hits.

Since then, Dane has had sporadic moments in the spotlight, including a focus on his relationship with Love Island’s Laura Anderson, a brawl at Butlin’s and a stint on Celebrity Big Brother.

In 2013, he also participated in ITV’s Big Reunion documentary, while the other band members declined.

Wayne stated he was at a different stage in his life, Mark – who is married to The Apprentice star Lord Sugar’s daughter – felt his work commitments for his father-in-law prevented him from participating, and Bobak was heavily involved with other projects.

Following the band’s break-up, Bobak relocated to Los Angeles and forged a successful second career as a model for brands such as Gap, Valentino, Macy’s and even became the face of Diet Coke.

He has also offered his expertise as a consultant on projects including the MOBO and Brit Awards, Fashion Rocks, Valentino, Reebok and Mastercard Europe, reports the Mirror.

Expanding his repertoire further, the multi-talented former vocalist subsequently moved into a brand manager and head of marketing position for luxury computer hardware manufacturer OrigenAE.

However, his varied new career path didn’t end there – he also enrolled at Queen Mary’s University of London to pursue law studies and branched out into property development, undertaking a 17-acre luxury real estate venture that prioritises sustainable systems.

He’s also a devoted father of two, regularly posting pictures of his young children on Instagram.

During his boy band era, Bobak was recognised for his closely-cropped head. Therefore, fans at the Kisstory festival in 2021 may have struggled to identify the performer who took to the stage sporting dark hair and thick stubble, concealing his trademark dimples.

He appeared delighted to rejoin the group for the show at the festival on Streatham Common in London.

Nevertheless, it appears this was a singular return to performing for Bobak, as Another Level regrouped earlier this year without him or Wayne.

The former vocalist responded after discovering two new members had joined the band without his consultation regarding the reunion.

“They didn’t have the courtesy to consult me – so it’s made me speaking out about this inevitable,” he told MailOnline. “I’m not trying to create any animosity but it’s the fans that are important in this and it’s not sitting right with them.

“They’re telling me the band have been editing me out of videos and deleting their comments asking where I am!”
