‘Amuse-Bouche’ is the latest genre-blending work by renowned photographer Melanie Dunea, which merges fashion, food, and photography into a limited-edition art book designed to resemble a cocktail menu. Sold via her website, the 64-page volume features male models adorned in edible couture — from bikinis stitched with olives to octopus necklaces –crafted with playful precision and a surrealist flair.
Dunea, founder of Mood Studios, drew on her experience in portraiture, food, and fashion to create 21 looks fabricated from ingredients such as shrimp, caviar, and crème fraîche. Only 500 hand-numbered copies (250 per cover color) are available, each capturing the exuberant spontaneity that defines the project. ‘Why can’t a woman wear an octopus on her neck?’ she quips, challenging genre and age conventions through this whimsical, high-concept visual feast.
