The family-friendly cafe added a children’s bakery next door in 2022
A Solihull cafe with ‘always a warm welcome’ has closed less than four years after opening.
Play Lane has closed social media accounts, deleted their website, and the business informed customers it was ‘closed’.
Opening in September 2021, Play Lane initially launched as a cafe on Drury Lane.

In August 2022, Play Lane owner Stephanie Phillips added Play Centre: Bakes Makes Creates next door, operating both cafe and role-playing bakery to give an ideal day out for families.
Both businesses are now closed, leaving Solihull town centre without two family-friendly shops.
On Google Reviews, Play Lane had a 4.7 score out of five stars, based on over 70 independent reviews.
A customer identified as Madeline said: “Lovely play village, easy to see children from all tables.

A different reviewer named Michelle added: “My youngest had an absolutely fantastic time here.

And a different guest called Amy posted: “The perfect place to take your toddlers for a calm and imagination-inspiring trip out.
“It is very small, essentially the size of a cafe, which is perfect if you’re a carer who wants to sit and watch.
