Cairneagle welcomes Ian Koxvold and Fionnuala Duggan as partners

International consulting firm Cairneagle has appointed two new partners to its UK team. Ian Koxvold and Fionnuala Duggan bring more than 30 years of experience each to the company.

A consultant of more than 31 years, Ian Koxvold has previously worked as a member of Cairneagle’s senior team. Spending seven years with the firm, he was previously a partner and the head of its education practice, before moving on in 2015. In the decade since, he has also headed up education strategy for PwC’s Strategy& outfit, and led education strategy and corporate development at the Supporting Education Group.

Speaking on being reunited with Cairneagle, Koxvold told his LinkedIn followers, “I had the great pleasure of returning to Cairneagle, where my professional education journey began many years ago. I am delighted that not only are my former partners Rupert Barclay, Arun Kanwar, Jorge Amírola still there, but also that I am joined by Sam Lecacheur and Fionnuala Duggan and – perhaps more importantly – an extraordinarily talented wider team. I am incredibly lucky to return to an organisation that has developed far beyond the level at which I left it.”

Fionnuala Duggan meanwhile first crossed paths with the consulting industry in 1989, when she joined Arthur D. Little. Her eclectic career in the decades since saw her serve as vice president for new media at EMI Music’s European wing, and as a director of Penguin Random House, before holding a host of senior and non-executive roles at Yale University Press, The Economist Group, and others. She also joins Cairneagle as a partner.

Cairneagle is a strategy consulting firm specialising in the education sector. The firm advises education and training institutions, and providers of technology and services to the sector, on corporate and business strategy. Cairneagle also supports investors with M&A and commercial due diligence services.

The two new arrivals will add crucial leadership and entrepreneurial skills to those proficiencies. With a combined seven decades of experience between them, the duo join as Cairneagle invests in growing its capabilities across the education landscape.

Commenting on the news, Arun Kanwar, managing partner at Cairneagle, said via LinkedIn, “These appointments mark an exciting chapter for Cairneagle… Together, we are looking forward to driving forward our shared vision and delivering even greater value to our clients.”
