Tripura holds joint entrance examinations across 15 centres | India News

The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE) conducted examinations at 15 examination centres across the state, officials said in Agartala Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters, TBJEE chairman Dr Subhadeep Paul said, “The joint entrance examinations started smoothly and have gone on uneventfully till the latest reports. We are conducting the joint entrance examination in 15 examination centres with 5,296 candidates this year. This includes 2,781 females and 2,515 males.”

The official also mentioned that 644 candidates applied for the physics, chemistry, and mathematics (PCM) group, 3,085 candidates appeared for the physics, chemistry, and biology (PCB) group, and 1,604 candidates applied for both groups.

Among the 15 centres for the Tripura joint entrance examination, eight are in West Tripura district alone, while all other seven districts have one examination centre each.

The examination schedule slotted the physics and chemistry examinations from 11 am to 12.30 pm and biology from 1.30 pm to 2.15 pm. The examination for the mathematics paper was from 3 pm to 3.45 pm.

Asked about the probable time of result announcement, the TBJEE chief said, “We will start the processing of results shortly after exams. Like other years, not much time would be needed this year as well.”

The board will release the Tripura JEE answer key on April 30, and candidates will have until May 7 to submit their challenges.

Nearly 6,000 students enrolled for the joint entrance examinations on physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics last year, which was a spike from the previous year’s 5,636.

Candidates applying for engineering and technological degree courses (Group A) must take physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Those aspiring for veterinary, agricultural, fisheries, paramedical, and other degree courses (Group B) need to appear for physics, chemistry, and biology. Candidates wishing to take both groups (Group C) are required to sit for all four subjects.
