- This morning the body of Pope Francis will be carried in a ceremonial procession from Chapel of the Santa Marta residence to St. Peter’s Basilica, where the public will be able to pay their respects ahead of his funeral on Saturday.
- Before setting off, Cardinal Kevin Farrell will preside over a ceremony in Santa Marta, where Francis lived and died.
- Francis’ funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. local time (4 a.m. ET), the Vatican said, with Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re presiding over the funeral liturgy.
