Of course, we can’t be sure whether the Liberal government was rolling out the red carpet for some of the planet’s most bloodthirsty killers.

It was all down to vibes, wasn’t it? Sunny ways. Saying no to potential voters, well, that just wasn’t cool.

One big liberal arts college kegger. Frustrated and angry CBSA agents told the Toronto Sun in January that catching bad guys entering the country is not the problem — it’s what happens next. Vibes, right?

Politicians and CBSA brass desperately want to give a wink to bad actors. Again with the vibes.

CBS News has pulled back the curtain on the flood of migrants flooding over the Canadian border to the U.S. frequently aided by Mexico’s hyper-violent Sinaloa Cartel. The cartel and its rivals are responsible for a bloodbath without end.

According to CBS, slipping over the border is as easy as hooking up on TikTok and Facebook.

And it hasn’t just been criminals and folks looking for a better life filtering through the porous border. Authorities say wanna-be terrorist and “international student” from Pakistan Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, 20, was arrested in Ormstown, Que. in September.

Authorities allege he was planning a massacre at a Jewish community centre in Brooklyn.

CBS reporter Cecilia Vega talked to a Sinaloa Cartel member who was facilitating the human trafficking. She found him in an online ad and he admitted they were flooding the zone with fentanyl from China. Guns, too.

After U.S. President Donald Trump’s rampage about the border and fentanyl, Canada coughed up a $1-billion plan, added a fentanyl czar, helicopters and drones. But again, there are those vibes.

Former CBSA agent and now professor Kelly Sundberg conceded Canada has been lax when it comes to the border.

“We’ve done a lotta great steps in trying to keep the border open. On the Canadian side, we have fallen short in keeping it secure,” Sundberg said.

He noted that currently there are only 400 CBSA frontline officers. The country needs 4,000 to 5,000.

Sundberg added: “Clearly, if we’re going to address the concerns of President Trump, let alone the concerns of many Canadians also, we need to increase those numbers.”

According to the CBS report with the unnamed human smuggler, the flood of drugs and people is unlikely to ebb.

“There’s always a way. The border between Canada and the U.S. is much bigger than the one with Mexico. You can always get in,” he said.

Over the weekend, CTV News reported that another violent Mexican crime ring, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, had its talons embedded into the Toronto underworld. Cops say the cartel was linked to an $83 million cocaine bust.

Two of the six suspects arrested in the case were Mexican nationals. Vibes.

RCMP Commissioner Michael Duheme said the agency also has “strong intelligence” that Canadians have relocated to Mexico and South America to move “certain commodities” into this country.

My friend and organized crime expert Antonio Nicaso told me earlier this month that the situation with the cartels will almost certainly get worse.

Like a slew of other criminal justice files, the Liberals have simply not taken the issue seriously.

Sunny ways and vibes have been a piss-poor substitute for keeping Canadians — and Americans — safe.

But have you seen their demographics?
