After a successful Champions Trophy, Pakistan is gearing up once again to host another major ICC event— the Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025. “The Heart of Pakistan,” aka Lahore, has been announced as the host city.

The qualification tournament, scheduled to take place from April 4 to April 19, will feature six teams battling it out for two coveted spots in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The participating teams include West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand, and Pakistan, which will also host the fixtures on home soil.

The qualifier will determine the final two teams that will join the top six sides, (India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka) from the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which will be hosted by India.

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers will follow a round-robin format, with each team playing against the others in the group stage. The top two teams at the end of the group stage will secure their spots in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.

Pakistan finished 9th in the ICC Women’s Championship after winning just 8 of their 24 fixtures, missing out on direct qualification for the World Cup. Fans expect to see Pakistan book their place in the upcoming World Cup 2025. The side will face stiff competition from the likes of Bangladesh and the West Indies, both teams that finished above Pakistan on the ICC Women’s Championship table.
