The winners of the top new UK restaurants were announced by Condé Nast on Monday
A Manchester restaurant has been named among Condé Nast Traveller’s top new UK restaurants. A global authority on high-end travel, Condé Nast announced the winners of its second annual UK’s Top New Restaurants Awards at an awards ceremony in London on Monday (March 10).
Judges including Raymond Blanc OBE, Jackson Boxer and Anna Shaffer formed this year’s distinguished panel, selecting winners for their culinary flair, creativity and excellence in the kitchen. Out of the 21 best new UK restaurants listed, only Manchester’s Skof represented the region – with the majority of winners coming from around London.
Owned and run by chef Tom Barnes, Skof only opened in and old textile building on Federation Street in the city centre 10 months ago. Being named as one of Condé Nast’s top new UK restaurants comes on the back of scooping a prestigious Michelin Star last month.
Divia Thani, global editorial director of Condé Nast Traveller, said: “Food has an incredible ability to be a gateway into a culture, to bring down walls and to bring people together, which is what we set out to do with our second annual UK’s Top New Restaurant Awards.
“Gathering the top talent across the nation’s vibrant food scene to celebrate their incredible achievements here tonight has been a privilege.
“We want to congratulate all of tonight’s winners and thank our incredible panel of judges who have rightfully recognised some of the best chefs and restaurants in the UK.”
