THE 2025 NFL free agency window is shaping up to be legendary.
As teams look to shed money to fit under the salary cap, some very good NFL players are being released into free agency.

Among those players is the Los Angeles Chargers’ Joey Bosa.
Bosa is not only one of the best players on the Chargers, but he is one of the best defensive players in all of the NFL.
At 29 years old he is a five-time Pro Bowler and former Defensive Rookie of the Year.
In nine seasons, Bosa has 72 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, and 343 tackles.
His numbers could be even better, but Bosa has missed extended amounts of time due to injuries over his career.
In just the last three seasons, Bosa has only played 28 of the Chargers’ 51 regular season games.
A broken hand and a sciatic nerve issue plagued him over the years.
“I feel like I’ve been letting my team down missing these games,” Bosa said of his injuries last season.
“Letting everybody down, letting coaches down. Letting the organization down.
“Letting myself down and it just sucks how these years have gone, the last few years.”
The main issue for the Chargers was how much money Bosa was making this year.
He carried a $36 million cap hit for the 2025 season, and the Chargers can eliminate about two-thirds of that by releasing him.
They will only incur and $11 million dead cap hit this year, according to Over the Cap.
Now, Bosa is a free agent and is free to sign with whatever team he likes.
One team that could have the advantage in free agency is the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers employ Nick Bosa, Joey’s younger brother and one of the league’s best defensive players.
Combining the two of them on one defensive line could be absolutely catastrophic for the rest of the league.
Having Nick come off of the right side of the line while Joey powers through the left side would be almost unstoppable.
Of course, plenty of other teams will have the ability to offer a competitive contract to Bosa in order to sway him to their squads.
For the sake of fun though, Bosa to the 49ers would be a great option.
