The former married couple locked lips despite Sharon being in a relationship with Teddy Mitchell
EastEnders fans are predicting a ‘major twist’ in the coming weeks that could lead to Grant Mitchell being ‘back for good’ after Ross Kemp’s exit in scenes aired on Thursday (February 27).
It’s been a hectic week for Grant on Albert Square, with his brief return seeing him set aside his feud with Bianca Jackson, flirt with Linda Carter and help his brother Phil with his mental health struggles.
The most shocking moment of Grant’s return was when he called to his former wife Sharon Watts for a heartfelt chat after learning that his best-friend Nigel Bates has dementia.
Sharon is currently grieving from the death of her close-friend Martin Fowler, who died from injuries sustained in the devastating Queen Vic explosion.
During their chat, Sharon told Grant that she was mad at her new boyfriend Teddy Mitchell for forgetting to tell her that Martin’s sister Michelle rang to discuss his upcoming funeral.
Being there for one another in scenes that resembled the 1990s, the former couple eventually locked lips before Grant swept her away to the bedroom.
With no time to dwell on her cheating on Teddy, Sharon had to prepare herself to say goodbye to Grant the next evening as he prepared to fly home to Portugal.
Sharon promised Grant that she would look after Phil while he was gone, while Grant expressed his desire to reunite with his son Mark Fowler Jr once he was ready to do so.
Despite a bow seemingly tied on the storyline, fans of the BBC soap rushed to Twitter to speculate that Sharon might be pregnant and that poor Teddy won’t be the father.

@WittyWalford disagreed, saying: “Highly unlikely. Other than her age, Ross will probably never return full time, but Grant wouldn’t stay away if he had a baby with Sharon, how would they write his absence into the story.”
Sharon and Grant are no strangers to being part of a love triangle, with the duo and Phil being involved in the iconic Sharongate storyline which reached a dramatic conclusion in 1994.
For those who don’t remember, Sharon slept with Phil while married to Grant after they couldn’t agree on if they wanted to have children. Grant learnt of the affair in front of everyone in the Queen Vic when he accidentally played a tape of her confessing it.
While the brothers had a fight that left Phil in intensive care and Sharon temporarily fled to America, the trio eventually managed to get back on the same page. However, it’s unclear if Teddy will be as forgiving when he learns the truth about Sharon and Grant.
