While there isn’t much information on the features and capabilities of the upcoming web browser from Perplexity, it is likely to include agentic AI capabilities and the ability to automate certain tasks. The Comet browser will face competition from industry giants like Chrome, as well as new entrants such as Dia by The Browser Company, which is also an AI-first web browser.

Perplexity, a startup founded in 2022, is known for its AI-powered app, which utilizes various large language models such as ChatGPT and DeepSeek. The app, available for both Android and iOS devices, offers a unique user experience by combining the power of generative AI with web browsing to deliver highly curated search results for user queries.
