Viewers were not impressed with what happened during the auction on the latest episode of Antique’s Road Trip. Irita Marriott and Danny Sebastian were on the hunt for a bargain in Suffolk on Thursday, February 20. Danny “couldn’t believe it” as Irita was leading the best of five series after a trio of auction triumphs earlier this week.

The antique experts each collected five items from local shops, within their budget of £200 each. Danny got his hands on an Art Deco mask, a cider flagon, a chrome hat stand, a small Moorcroft vase and a trinket box.

Irita bagged herself a cheroot holder, a vintage juicer, a copper lamp, a sad faced dog and a pewter plate. It seemed the expert knew exactly what she was doing, as she achieved victory once again in the fourth auction contest of the week.

The experts arrived at Paul Beighton auctioneers in South Yorkshire, as a hopeful Danny said: “Let the battle commence.” But his positivity soon dwindled away while Irita took all the glory.

He begged the audience: “Come on get bidding this is a lovely item – come on!” He continued to shout at the audience throughout the rest of the auction: “Come on – get your hand up. Come on, stop mucking about!”

But as the auction came to an end, he admitted: “She’s done it again” as Irita made a £177.24 profit, compared to his £76.92 sad loss. Irita is the “quadruple auction winner” ahead of the final contest tomorrow when all accumulated profits will go to Children in Need.

Viewers took to social media to have their say following the show as one said: “How annoying are these dealers on the show tonight. She (Anita) keeps yelling for more…more…I would think that would be extremely annoying if you were in the hall and would put me off bidding….seriously BBC….” More added: “How annoying are these two???” and “Those poor people in the auction thinking shut up.”

Fans were much more impressed with last week’s experts, Philip Serrell and Natasha Raskin-Sharp. One said: “The best two ever on the #antiquesroadtrip.” Phil even teased a “Phil and Tash on the road” spin-off show. Another fan responded: “Really enjoyed the first week of new series, just to say ‘Phil and Tash on the road’ is something I would watch happily!”
