Londoners have been doing everything possible to fend off the chills over the past couple of months.
From Thursday, the Met Office predicts a “change to milder temperatures”, despite possible rain and harsh winds.
Weather forecast for the week
A bright morning following a frosty start, with spells of hazy sunshine. Cloud thickening from the west during the afternoon, alongside possible rain and breezy conditions. Maximum temperature 9°C.
Temperatures increase after midday to 12°C, but slightly cloudy, with overcasting and light rain from around lunchtime and mostly clears before evening.
Cloudy, but changing to sunny intervals between 9am to 12pm. Highs of 14°C.
It is well above February’s average in southern England of 9C, meaning it will mark a “noticeable shift” after the last fortnight, which was below average, Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey previously said.
However, he noted February’s highest temperature was recorded as 21.2°C back in 2019 in Kew Gardens. So while 14°C seems a lofty height compared to recent weeks, it is not record-breaking.
Cloudy changing to sunny intervals by late morning. Highs of 13°C .
Mostly cloudy, but mild temperatures of 12°C maximum.
The Met Office says of the outlook towards the end of week: “An unsettled period ahead between Thursday and Saturday, characterised by strong winds and bands of rain, heavy at times, moving in from the west. However, this signals a change to milder temperatures.”
