But ahead of Shami’s comeback, his ex-wife Hasin Jahan posted a video on her social media account which went viral on social media.

One fan commented to the video, “Mohammad Shami ki yaad aa rahi hai (Thinking about Mohammed Shami?)” while another commented, “Shami bhai ne theek kiya isse chhod ke (Shami did well to leave her)”.
Shami had got married to Hasin Jahan in June 2014 and the couple got divorced in 2022. A Kolkata court had mandated Shami to pay Hasin Jahan Rs 1.30 lakh per month in alimony, with Rs 50,000 for personal maintenance and Rs 80,000 for their daughter’s upkeep, as of January 2023, according to a media report.
Meanwhile, India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, is thrilled about the much-anticipated return of veteran pacer Mohammed Shami to international cricket. Shami has been out of action since featuring in India’s ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia in Ahmedabad. An ankle injury that required surgery sidelined him for a year. However, he marked his competitive return with an outstanding performance for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy against Madhya Pradesh, where he played a pivotal role in securing victory with match figures of 7/156.
The seasoned pacer has been working on regaining his fiery pace in the nets in Bengal, gearing up for the T20I series opener against England. Suryakumar expressed his excitement about Shami’s return, stating, “Having an experienced bowler in the squad is always a plus. He’s coming back after more than a year, and I’m really excited to see him in action. I’ve witnessed his journey, his focus on bowling and recovery, and it’s great to have him back.”
With Jasprit Bumrah sidelined due to an injury sustained in the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Shami is expected to lead India’s pace attack. The 34-year-old will likely partner with Arshdeep Singh, aiming to trouble England’s batting lineup with his blistering pace.
