22 Kids and Counting star Noel Radford broke down in tears after an emotional revelation
Noel Radford was seen in tears shortly after 22 Kids and Counting fans were given a stark warning about the “upsetting” scenes that lay ahead.
Sue and Noel Radford, parents to Britain’s biggest family, have raised 22 children over three decades. Sue was a mere 13 years old when she had her first child, with their most recent addition arriving in 2020.
A spin-off from the main show aired on July 20, titled 22 Kids & Counting: Noel’s Long-Lost Mum, which follows Noel as he embarks on a journey to find his birth mother.
Noel was given up for adoption just ten days after his birth in 1971 and is now eager to uncover more about his origins. Sue, also adopted, has expressed no desire to seek out her biological parents.
The Channel 5 programme, 22 Kids and Counting: Noel’s Long Lost Mum, took viewers on an emotional journey. Prior to the broadcast, audiences were cautioned about the emotionally charged content, reports the Express.
Despite causing “disagreements” within his marriage, Noel confessed during the episode that he was “only going to get one chance in life to find her”, leading them to seek assistance.
On the programme, Sue admits she has “never felt the need” to locate her birth parents, contrasting Noel’s experience. Expressing feelings of guilt, Noel admitted: “I do feel a bit rotten, a bit selfish almost. But I’m only going to get the one chance.”
Viewers witnessed Sue expressing her concerns about Noel potentially facing “rejection” questioning, “How’s he going to deal with that?”
However, the audience was soon relieved to learn that two months after enlisting assistance, it was confirmed that Noel’s birth mother had been located. Despite her initial astonishment, she was open to meeting him.
Noel’s response was deeply moving as he was overcome with emotion, burying his face in his hands and wiping away tears.
The episode struck a chord with viewers, prompting an outpouring of reactions on social media. One viewer commented: “Its very emotional but his face said it all.” Another shared their lack of surprise at Noel’s reaction: “Not surprised Noel has reacted the way he did.”
A third confessed: “it’s deffo an emotional one tonight had me in tears but I love 22 kids and counting.”
Later in the show, Noel is seen composing his first letter to his biological mother, leading up to their eventual encounter. Yet, Noel admitted to feeling overwhelmed, describing it as “a lot to take in” and revealing his apprehension.
He also disclosed that he and Sue were encountering additional challenges following his quest, as he pondered over his decision to search for his birth mother.
