Two teenagers are facing multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder while armed, after allegedly shooting a 29-year-old man Tuesday near Nubian Square in Roxbury, police said.

Just before 5 p.m., officers responded to 62 Warren St. in Roxbury, where they found a 29-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds, Boston police said in a statement.

Detectives began an investigation at the scene and located surveillance footage which showed two suspects allegedly involved in the shooting. They then sent images and descriptions of the suspects to responding officers, according to police.

Officers later observed two teens on Moreland Street who matched the provided descriptions. One suspect, a 17-year-old male, was detained without incident; the other, a 15-year-old male, attempted to flee but was caught by police after a brief foot chase, police said.

The two teens were arrested and were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of assault with intent to murder while armed, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and trespassing.

Officers allegedly found a plastic bag believed to contain crack cocaine in the 15-year-old’s sock during the booking process. The suspect will face an additional drug possession charge, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The suspects’ identities will not be released because they are minors, police said.
