FIVE PERSONS, including two foreign nationals, were injured when a Mercedes-Benz car hit them at Mumbai international airport on Sunday morning, police said adding that the driver of the car was arrested.
According to police, the driver of the luxury car, which was at the airport to drop off a passenger, lost control over the vehicle, resulting in the incident in the parking lot of Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj international airport in Mumbai.
An officer from the local police station said that the driver of the car, identified as Parshuram Dadanavre (34), was arrested on charges of rash and negligent driving.
The two foreign nationals were admitted to the Nanavati hospital and three airport crew members were taking treatment at the Cooper hospital
An official said that while the driver did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol it appeared that Dadanavre accidentally pushed the accelerator instead of the brake due to which the incident took place at airport gate number one.
