1 dead after car parking lift collapses in Borivali high-rise | Mumbai News

One person lost his life and another person got injured after a car parking lift collapsed at a ground-plus-21-storeyed Borivali high-rise in Mumbai on Saturday afternoon.

Car parking lifts are hydraulic platforms that use vertical lifting mechanisms to maximise parking space. Instead of parking cars horizontally, a car parking lift stacks vehicles vertically, allowing more cars to be accommodated in a smaller footprint.

According to the disaster cell of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the deceased has been identified as Shunham Dhuri, 30, while the injured person has been identified as Sunjeet Yadav, 45.
